ANNIE FOURMANOIR (b.1931)
Annie Fourmanoir is a French studio potter and art teacher. Born in Paris, she studied languages at La Sorbonne before apprenticing with Paul Chaumeil in pottery.
From the 1960s onwards, she has created sculptural works. Experimenting with glaze, forms, materials and textures, her works are often inspired by the marine universe.
She was awarded the Silver Medal at the Biennale de Vallauris. Her works are held in the Musée de Sèvres (France) and the Rösska Museum (Sweden), among others.
