HERVÉ BALEY EDITIONS COLLECTION
Magen H Gallery, New York
March 25 – April 24, 2026

Magen H Gallery is pleased to announce the launch of the Hervé Baley Éditions Collection, presented through an exhibition opening on March 25, 2026 in New York. Developed in close collaboration with the Hervé Baley Estate, the collection represents an important step in the continued study, preservation, and transmission of the architect and designer’s work.

Hervé Baley (1933–2010) developed a singular approach to architecture and design grounded in line, proportion, and spatial intelligence. His furniture and lighting pieces were conceived in close relationship to the architectural environments for which they were created, resulting in a limited and fragmented body of work. Today, surviving examples are rare, yet Baley’s formal language—marked by structural clarity and disciplined geometry—has gained increasing recognition among collectors, architects, and scholars.

The Hervé Baley Éditions Collection, developed with the Estate, seeks to extend the life and visibility of this work while remaining faithful to its original spirit. Each piece is based on archival drawings, models, and historical documentation, with strict attention paid to proportion, scale, and line. Conceived not as reinterpretations but as continuations, the Éditions preserve the architectural rigor and formal balance that define Baley’s designs.

The exhibition introduces sixteen pieces from the collection through a scenographic layout developed by Alban Roger, allowing the works to be experienced through their spatial presence and structural clarity.

Production of the Éditions reflects the French lineage of craftsmanship central to Baley’s work. Upholstery fabrics are developed in collaboration with Élitis, the French textile and wall covering house known for its research-driven approach to material and surface. Upholstery is executed by Pierre Atelier, founded by French craftsman Pierre-Alexandre Bourdel and now based in New York. Together, these collaborators form a close network of expertise rooted in French design culture and craftsmanship, ensuring continuity with the spirit and rigor of Baley’s original work.

Through the launch of the Hervé Baley Éditions Collection, Magen H Gallery continues its commitment to preserving and transmitting Baley’s legacy while bringing his architectural language into contemporary contexts.
